Pick: Russia (+0) Result: 0-3 Stake: 3/10 Odds: 2.75 Bookmaker: Betsson SBvCash: Yes Posted: Jun 25, 2008, 13:21
A rematch of the first poulematch in Group D, Russia - Spain. In this first match Russia was nowhere, and Villa scored three goals. Now in the semi final I don't think this will be that easy again. Russia defeated The Netherlands in the quarter final, and after the comeback of Arshavin the team is very dangerous. Spain has enough quality to conquer the Russians, but I really think that Russian can surprise here. Watch this match close!! Small bet +0

Pick: Portugal (+0) Result: 2-3 Stake: 4/10 Odds: 1.72 Bookmaker: CanbetvCash: Yes Posted: Jun 19, 2008, 08:31
Tonight is the night to beat the German team. After their succesfull WC 2 years ago, this year no one is really able to get their standard form. Before this tournament they were the main favourite, after their loss against Croatia they never got the feeling that they can really conquer this tournament. On the other hand there is Portugal, that are more convincing than Germany. The B squad is not that good, but I think Portugal would like to show the world how good they are tonight. Never underestimate the Germans however, a strange strange team. (see the history) My pick is pretty safe, Portugal +0
Nice match, and I think the best team has won. It's a pity for my pick.
Pick: Spain to qualify Result: Spain Stake: 5/10 Odds: 1.82 Bookmaker: BetfairvCash: No Posted: Jun 18, 2008, 10:59
Spain is the team with one of the most impressive squads in the tournament. They won their first two matches, and they are ready to fight for the semi final. Tonight they first have to play the game against Greece, but coach Aragones will play this with the B squad. Italy is a big name in the history of soccer. This year they only played not that good at all. The win over France yesterday was not convincing me enough to back them here. Without key player Pirlo, and Gattuso suspended I don't see Italy win this game. My pick is Spain to qualify. The young strikers will make the difference here.
Pick: Croatia Result: 0-0 Stake: 3/10 Odds: 2.01 Bookmaker: BetfairvCash: No Posted: Jun 17, 2008, 20:01
This second match of the quarter finals is where Croatia meets Turkey. Croatia was dominating Group B, with the best result the nice win over Germany. Turkey placed as second in Group A, after their last minutes thriller against Czech Republic. In the match on Saturday this thriller causes some extra handicaps for the Turkish squad. Goalkeeper Demirel Volkan received a stupid red card in the dying seconds, while midfielder Aurelio received one yellow card to much. This will handicap the Turkish squad a lot. Croatia was already placed after the first two matches. They are ready to rumble this quarter final, and they will do it in my opinion. Picks here are: Croatia to qualify (safe) and Croatia win.
Both teams are very emotional, a good reason to watch closely which referee will be on this match. The booking points index can be interesting here...

Pick: Portugal 1X2 Result: 1-3 Stake: 8/10 Odds: 1.90 Bookmaker: InterwettenvCash: Yes Posted: Jun 10, 2008, 23:35
This second round match of poule A can decide which team will already qualify for the quarter final next week. Czech Republic didn't impress me at all, where I'm still convinced that the Switzerland +0 pick was OK. On the other side we have Portugal, a team that really impressed me. The balance is OK, and they really have some strong wingers and creative midfielders. With in the back Carvalho and Pepe they will be the team to beat in Group A. I'm convinced Portugal will get the 3 points here, to may be help Switzerland in the last game...
European top striker Ronaldo scores 2-1, Portugal takes 3 points
Pick: Greece (+0) Result: 0-2 Stake: 5/10 Odds: 2.18 Bookmaker: BetfairvCash: No Posted: Jun 10, 2008, 15:05
After the nice win of Holland yesterday it's now time for group D. Greece, the defending champions, will meet Sweden tonight for their first matches. The odds say that Greece is the underdog in here, but is that right? In my opinion this isn't right. Greece qualified as one of the first teams with 31 points out of 12 matches. 10 wins, 1 draw and one loss. This in a group with Turkey, Norway and Hungary. Greece won this march in an away game 1-2 in and against Portugal. Ok, the last 2 games weren't that good, but I really see a good oppurtunity here. The Greeks are a very proud nation and they will fight till the last minut.
Sweden is an ok team, but without Zlatan they are nothing special. The defensive coaching won't assure them of a lot of points. They will be the dissapointment of this tournament I think. Pick here Greece + 0.
What a disappointment. This Greece team is weak, very weak. Sweden deserved the win.
Pick: More ball possession : Holland (>50) Result: 53 Stake: 8/10 Odds: 2.00 Bookmaker: InterwettenvCash: No Posted: Jun 09, 2008, 10:36
This odd is a real banker in my opinion. Holland is the team that have to make the game tonight. Italy will lean back and counter if they need. All other sites have a line of 52.5%. Interwetten has only most ball possession @ 2. Enjoy this odd, enjoy the game. The real result was not 53%, but 51%. Interwetten voided the bet afterwards after some incorrect information.
See my comments for more information.
Pick: Italy (+0) Result: 3-0 Stake: 4/10 Odds: 1.69 Bookmaker: Betsson SBvCash: No Posted: Jun 08, 2008, 21:50
As a Dutch men, this bet is more for the fun than a real bet. If this bet is right, Holland won't win. If Holland will win tomorrow, I'm very happy. The only thing is then that I lost this bet. Small stake advised. Italy is still favourite here.
Pick: Spain Result: 4-1 Stake: 5/10 Odds: 1.75 Bookmaker: InterwettenvCash: No Posted: Jun 08, 2008, 01:12
Spain’s first match this championship. What can we say about Spain, if you ask me they have the best squad this year’s tournament. Players like Fabregas, Torres, Xavi and Puyol can be seen as world’s top-players. But Spain has this big-tournament problem: always a good squad, never the result. Is this year going to be different? Russia misses top players Arsjavin (suspended) and Pogrebnyak (injury). Funny thing is that 4 years ago Spain’s first euro 2004 match was also against Russia, at the time the won 1-0 but after a Draw against Greece and the loss against Portugal they were out of the tournament. I think Spain will really want to show the nation that for once a good squad can show the expected results. Russia missing scoring capacity, Spain hungry for success. Pick Spain.
Spain wins thanks to 3 goals of Valencia striker David Villa
